He has a couple dozen albums, been on many TV shows, performed with Steve Martin and Béla Fleck, published a couple of books, and teaches banjo for ArtistWorks. And now he's been photographed by me. As is typical of celebrities, you are given about 15 minutes to create magic. Sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes you don't. The technical aspects of shooting portraits are easy, but it usually takes time to develop a rapport with the subject.
