TEDx Napa Valley is an annual conference celebrating Technology, Entertainment and Design. And each year, I get to photograph the event. About a dozen speakers come together and talk about a range a topics. This year, the theme was "Go Figure."
I brought along three camera bodies and four lenses. I kept one camera attached to a 500mm lens in the balcony. I carried two other cameras around getting an array of angles. The lighting has always been tough during TED talks, but it wasn't as bad this year. The hardest part is trying to photograph people while they're speaking. During any given 1/200th of a second, people are usually making a funny face or have their eyes closed. I shoot a lot, then throw a lot away.
