For the past few years, the Napa Valley Vintners has hired me to photograph the excitement surrounding the wine grape harvest. For a few short weeks, all the wineries bring in their fruit for processing and start making wine. Things get busy in the valley as workers are picking all night and most of the morning.
Just about every morning, I get up before sunrise to head out to a different vineyard. We were trying for a different look this year. Instead of machines, I concentrated on the simple details of producing the best wines in the world.
