Cab is king here in the Napa Valley. So CabFest was born to celebrate the grape that made the Napa Valley famous.
The three day event began on Friday night with a concert featuring Mat Kearney. After the show, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, and Diane Disney Miller were presented with awards recognizing them for their help with Roots of Peace.
On Saturday, the afternoon was filled with lively seminars and wine tasting. That night, Mat Kearney performed an acoustic set for a select group of VIPs at Cardinale.
Sunday had more special presentations and even more wine tasting. Hundreds of wineries and dozens of restaurants participated. Everything was top notch. I didn't get a chance to sample too many wines, but I did force myself to make time for the $500/bottle 2005 Lakoya Cabernet Sauvignon. And I'm glad I did.
Besides photographing the event, a special book was made highlighting all the participating wineries. The front cover, back cover, and many images inside were all mine.
